As we mostly meet online in our workshops and round table meetings we thought it is about time to arrange a face to face meeting for all colleagues in the network. The survey result shows that 79,7% of all respondents think it is a great idea and 20,3% think it could be a good idea. So - of course we will schedule and plan for this conference.
Where and When?
As per the results the conference should take place in Brussels, Belgium, on a Friday either in May or September.
Format and Content
What should be included in the conference fee?
To have an "all-inclusive-fee" or just cover the basics is a delicate question. Depending on the organizational structure and the funding of the participation of the conference different alternatives might be a good option. How ever - it looks very clear and obvious that there should be a fee covering the conference and the facilities as well as refreshments during the day - and including lunch is preferred by many (53,13%). The activities before and after the scheduled hours for the conference looks like most of the respondents want to take care of by them selves. It gives of course a better chance to choose or to refrain from participating, even if a joint dinner is a good idea to 40% of the respondents. Paying in advance is normal and also accepted by most members - and still a traditional invoice is better than paying with card. (We will however arrange also for paying by credit card as we are connected to Paypal).
To get the invitation to conferences in good time is important to most of us - and 12 weeks ahead is preferred by 50% of the respondents.
To speak English as a common language is okay to close to 100% - and even if UK now is leaving EU (Brexit) - English will dominate the collaboration and meeting anyway - not at least since that is the most usual second language all over the world.
